 In 1899, the first tea farm was established by Prince Mohammad Mirza known as "Kashef Al Saltane" in Lahijan city, the first town in Iran to have tea plantations, and the first tea processing factory was built in 1934, a hundred years later. The Teaman Company, also known as Refah Chay, has been established in Bijarbane, the scenic Village of Lahijan on a land with an area of 10,000 m2 and a floor area of 8000 m2.
In 2002, the Teaman Co. established its own tea factory for processing tea, with a capacity of 20 Tons of tea on 24-hour basis. Employing state-of-the–art automated packing machines, the company embarked upon improving the tea industry and producing teas of different kinds: organic, fruit and herbal to satisfy its customers’ tastes. In 2008, named the “Year of Innovation & Flourishing”, the company managed to produce green tea from green leaves.
Until 2010 when Oolong Tea, a symbol of oriental beauty, was produced by the company, the green tea used to be only an imported goods. We are greatly honored to announce that in the year of “National Production, Supporting Iranian Labor & Capital”, as it has been named, we succeeded in our aims for producing high quality white tea, green tea and thymus cookies along with black and green tea of different packages, weights and fruits, orange bosom, cardamom, mint, cinnamon, jasmine, apple and peach and sugar lumps of different flavors, cinnamon, cacao, and sour lemon under the trade names of “Refah, Sogand and Fatima.
It’s worth mentioning that the Refah Tea, holder of Green Tea Standard and the first winner of Food Safety (Healthy Apple Award) certificates in Iran, has been awarded the ISO 9001, ISO 2005-22000, HACCP, International Star for Quality from TUV of Germany for Health and safety Quality Management, Halal Food and Consumer Protection Certificates for the very endeavor and perseverance of its industrious specialists and staff. Moreover, the Teaman Company was recognized as the influential eminent brand name of Tea Industry and tea exporter of the year 2014 by the Iranian Science & Culture Hall of Fame. |
