In 1899, the first tea farm was established by Prince Mohammad Mirza known as "Kashef Al Saltane" in Lahijan city, the first town in Iran to have tea plantations, and the first tea processing factory was built in 1934, a hundred years later. The Teaman Company, also known as Refah Chay, has been established in Bijarbane, the scenic Village of Lahijan on a land with an area of 10,000 m2 and a floor area of 8000 m2.
In 2002, the Teaman Co. established its own tea factory for processing tea, with a capacity of 20 Tons of tea on 24-hour basis. Employing state-of-the–art automated packing machines, the company embarked upon improving the tea industry and producing teas of different kinds: organic, fruit and herbal to satisfy its customers’ tastes.
